An overview of how VINNU approaches security, on-device processing, and your data improvement settings.
On-device processing
Where the platform supports it, VINNU performs speech-to-text locally. Keeping transcription on-device reduces the amount of sensitive audio that ever leaves your machine.
Separation of concerns
The local transcription pipeline is kept separate from optional third-party AI features. This separation is intentional: using an optional AI feature does not change how local dictation handles your audio.
Data improvement settings
VINNU includes settings that control whether any data is shared to improve the product. These settings are:
- Off by default.
- Opt-in, with a clear explanation of what would be shared.
- Reversible — you can turn improvement data off at any time.

If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, please contact us so we can investigate. Responsible disclosure helps keep everyone safe.
